In literature and books, authors must have characters. clearly states that the author is advising the writers of literature. “Never have a picture of a well-adjusted African on the cover of your book,” (Wainaina, 2005). In his literature, the Kenyan author aims to reach the world audience and especially the western writers and people. Africa is far much better than how the western media and literature portray it, there are positives and people not only suffer from hunger and die of starvation and war. In a sad and satirical way, the author tries to tell the world that the negatives that are always spread do not define Africa. The essay explains what other people, especially people from the west, think about Africa, its people, the environment, their leaders and everything in the continent.
